Tis the Season for Bunnies

As mentioned Grandma Harris made the girls a couple of petti-skirts. She also made them some shirts to follow and with accompanying bunny ears...well these are my kind of Bunnies.

Grandma, Zoo & Carousel

The Zoo is always fun, but after a few years the pictures begin to look the same, so you find that although you still love all the animals you become more selective on the shots you take. Luckily the kids change and grow every year as does the excitement to go.

Wednesday and Thursday were supposed to be the best days of the week weather wise -Tate's health started to improve on Thursday and so we headed to the zoo thinking it might be good to get out and seeing the animals might improve Tate's spirits. Unfortunately it was still cold and rainy with a few bouts of Sunshine and Tate didn't seem to care about anything except being held, but we had a great time regardless.

We spent time in the aquarium where we hardly ever go and saw a lot of big sharks who were feeling quite...lazy or social depending on your point of view. They were just hanging out laying on the bottom next to the glass for close viewing.

Last time we were at the zoo Leslie introduced my kids to The Carousel. Fearing the price of a ride we have actually avoided this attraction but after finding out rides are only a $1 we are quickly becoming regulars. It was all McKenna could talk about the whole time we were there. Tyler has overcome her fear of it and she's a big fan and we discovered that Tate is also a fan.

This was the one time Tate actually showed any emotion. He Loved the Carousel, they all did but Tate did NOT want to get of holding onto his horse and became quite upset when it stopped.

Rainbows Aren't Forever

Spring Break and Lots of rain mean time to play inside. Baking is always a favorite of mine and cupcakes are a favorite of everyone. When I saw this done by Silvia, my sister-in-law I was intrigued and thought this would perfect. Everyone helped. Grandpa and Tyler helped mix the cake (from scratch) and both girls loved mixing the colors in the cake batter and together to create other colors: Green, purple, orange. Super Fun and YUMMY!

The Tulips are Back

There are so many pictures I made a slide show-They really tell the whole story anyway. If you want to read about the adventure then continue on.

The Tulips are out a little early this year, but it worked out perfectly for our schedule. My parents flew in Saturday morning and after picking them up at the airport we immediately drove 2 hours North to La Connor for lunch and then onto Mt. Vernon to take in the beautiful Splendor of the Tulip Fields.

There was more than just tulips there-it's been raining for what feels like forever, but over a week and there were a lot of puddles for the girls to jump in. Happy we brought the rainboots because Tyler didn't make it too long before falling in. Luckily she was wearing her skirt and Leggings, classic Tyler-and the Leggings and her wet feet were the only evidence.
Tate came down with a fever a couple of days earlier and for the most part just wanted to be held. He wasn't quite sure about Grandma and Grandpa at first, but Grandpa's silliness brings out the best in all of us and he couldn't help but play along.

Tyler on the other hand fell in love with the Dandelions at the end of the field-beautiful flowers that they are. Left a big smile on her face along with the yellow pollen from smelling those beautiful flowers so much.

You have admit that's quite the bouquet, what little girl wouldn't love that. The little old ladies parked next to us liked it.

We were on our way home and found a 2nd field which is actually the place we usually go-it was bursting in color and begging us to stop and take MORE pictures. Grandma made the girls these beautiful little pettiskirts and so we put those on with threats to stay away from the mud puddles and headed out for a photo shoot.

Oh How Our Garden Grows

Inspired by Tyler's corn plant a week ago John and the Girls began our garden. They did this by planting them in disposable cups and putting them in the window sill. We hope to start utilizing our Green House a little better and have High Hopes for fresh produce all year long. After a week I'm still surprised by the growth we've already seen.

2 weeks is incredible-when do you start transplanting them to bigger containers? Sometimes you almost feel like you could watch them grow its happening so fast.
