18 months old-Tateisms

Last Saturady...or maybe 2 weeks ago as mentioned earlier Tate got his haircut and had his 18 months pictures taken. Hopefully Leslie won't mind me stealing the pictures off her website or click the pictures to see them there.

Decided while it was on the brain I'd write about Tate At 18 months:

Tate is...

Saying:

• "Hot"
• "Hi" to others as well as when he wants to go higher in the swing
• "uh-oh" when the movie is not playing
• "Peas"-Please
• "Cheese"
• "addy"-Daddy
• "uh-huh" for yes
• makes the sounds as if your saying for "sorry," Tyler's name and Thank You
• "ahhh done"
• sings 'abcdefg' with the alphabet song-

Tate-isms:

• Signs 'please'
• waves good-bye (quite wildly)
• Kisses screams when he wants his binki
• Started blowing kisses yesterday as Leslie was leaving
• Discovered a love for playing in his own personal dirt box under the playhouse & EATING the dirt! Nothing gets him to stop, although his dad admitted to doing the same thing and liking the taste of dirt. A chip off the old block Tate is...
• Likes his baby-giving it hugs and pushing it in the stroller
• He flirts with ALL the Ladies-and he's really good at it feigning shyness
• Has one speed...running and quite often so fast he goes head first into...the couch or a door

Happy Father's Day 2010

We had a great time celebrating Father's Day.

We started out with a Breakfast, cards and presents for our Dad.

We LOVE our Dad!

We also called our Grandpa's and sang them songs!

We love our Grandpa and Papa so much and wish we lived closer.

Can't wait to see them both at the end of July!

Hope the Men in our lives had a wonderful Father's Day!

As a side note (for John) he caught the biggest Mole he's ever seen on Father's Day. One a day earlier and another one a few days later. 3 Moles within a week. Might be time to start hiring him out.

Finger Paints

We decided to try finger paints today-Tate eats any and everything so we made some vanilla pudding and added a little food coloring to see how it would work out. I think next time we'll use a little less milk to make it a little thicker. It was pretty fun and very yummy!

In true Tate form it was mostly eaten.

Kindergarten Field Trip

The Kindergarten classes all got together for their field trip, a walk to Raineer Park Wednesday morning. Unfortunately it was very rainy and very cold! They were all troopers cramming together under the one pavilion for lunches. McKenna's teacher, Mrs. Lundh surprised the kids with a bag that contained a med sized rubber ball, bubbles, jump rope, sidewalk chalk, and a pair of sunglasses that I think she got from the 80's. Black rims with fluorescent ear pieces. The kids had a ball regardless of the weather-it was chaos but they had a great time!

Introducing...

My Baby is gone...he's now 18 months old. For months I've been asked when I was going to cut Tate's hair. My response being 18 months. I know it was long, but I loved the color-the mess. It fit his personality. Saturday it happened-with much hesitation I finally made myself make the first cut. Luckily the kid loved the clippers because it was looking pretty bad there at first.

I think the end product is somewhat unrecognizable, but very cute and still quite lovable. He definitely takes after her Father in that aspect.

PS-He officially started Nursery on Sunday and after spending the first half with him-he was quite happy when John left him alone (although with his sister Tyler) during Music time. He came home a little wet but very happy!

Follow in His Footsteps

We had a primary activity last Friday night called "Follow in His Footsteps"-the children were seperated into groups and then went to 5 different stations-depictions of events in Christ's Life. It was well rounded with some spiritual classes and some "fun" classes.

The classes were: Fisher's of Men, The Lost Coin/Sheep (which I taught and was pry McKenna's favorite only because she was helped hide and find the chocolate coins. The Wise and Foolish Man (Tyler's favorite since it was a Music class and they sang The Wise Man Built His House). The Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes as well as a class by our Primary President-Video & Testimony. The kids actually loved All the classes and afterwards were treated with a little plate of food-our own depiction of food they "might've" eaten during the time of Jesus life.

Tea Party Legacy

With McKenna in school...although only for a few more weeks Tyler needed a tea party partner, to which she found with her baby doll.

Tate however sensing food wanted to join in, too bad he doesn't know or even understand tea party etiquette, we tried to teach him: Wear clothes, something more than your onesie at least,

please try not to eat others food and whatever you do, don't spill the "tea" aka water, it really upsets the hostess.

Rain, Rain, and MORE Rain

I wouldn't have Harris Blood in me if I didn't discuss the weather-It seems to be raining ALL the time, a little later in the year and a little more often than in years past. The good thing about Rain besides the really green grass, the ease of pulling weeds and the garden growing bigger is always the Puddles...or rather the one puddle that is the deepest and keeps The kids entertained the longest.

The rain did break long enough to run up and make sure the goats were still around

both Tyler and Tate look for them as soon as they step into the front yard.

May 26th: Yup Still Rainin

since can't see his boots splashin in the puddle.

Today was the best storm so far-we had an hour of thunder and lightening-and although we were outside jumping in puddles when John got home we hadn't noticed the rainbow that covered the sky.

It was beautiful, worthy of 2 pictures!
