John is a man of many talents, more than I think either of us knew about when we married. It has been argued whether those talents come from his constant desire to learn or maybe his way with money (or lack of wanting to spend it). Since moving to our home in Edgewood a few years back he has found that he has a knack for working with wood. It started with a Router he got for Christmas, and well I now am the proud owner of several pieces of Furniture which he claims as his learning projects but to which I am very proud. For my birthday he decided to make me a bookcase. Our neighbors had an Aspen(?) tree fall in their yard last November and being a fairly Large tree he was excited when theygave him the wood if he'd get the tree out of their yard, to which he took to the mill and had it dried and cut (sounds like the lil Red Hen doesn't it). He was very excited when he finally got the wood back a month ago and the quality of it, especially with the price of wood these days.
I have to tell you that this is his finest project thus far, I was actually quite surprised at how pretty it is. It actually makes my house a little prettier just to have it in the room. As the proud wife that I am here are the pictures of his journey and fine craftsmanship. :)
McKenna helped load the shelves :)
THANK YOU JOHN!!!

Steven says "It looks good" I agree. He does got talent working with wood. Thanks for the pictures of his latest project. What other pieces of furniture has he made?
I'm impressed. It looks expenSIve!
It is gorgeous, you lucky girl!
I think my favorite things I have in my home are gifts from other people. And they are even more special if they were hand made by that person. What a treasure! And what talent... it is so beautiful!
Umm, first can I hire John to build me a few things?
Second, will you be a model for me?...in a few months?! ;)
Hope you like the pictures. MSN isn't working correctly for me but as soon as I can IM I need to tell you a few things about the pictures.
I love the bookcase!! Hopefully this ability is genetic, but I don't think we will ever own a place large enough for David to find out..sigh :)
We are really looking forward to having our toybox made by John...just kidding.
I know I should be looking more at the bookcase which is way nice by the way, but I can't get over the picture of John holding Tyler. What happened to the baby I knew last summer? She's looks so grown up, well, as grown up as a baby can look. lol.
Wow!! He really should teach Darin how to do that. How great would it be to have your own woodmaker at home??
What a beautiful family heirloom! Good work John! I am very impressed!
