The Week at a Glance: April 18-24

McKenna began going to school FULL time about a week and a half ago. It just kind of happened-class pictures were to be taken and if she wanted to be in them McKenna had to be at school when it started. Sofie, a friend in her Th/Fri class takes the same bus in the mornings and so McKenna found the courage to go with her that morning.

Since then she has made a new friend, Dakota a 1st grader, who McKenna describes as, "he has orange hair and makes me laugh". Bless these 2 kids for helping McKenna through this transition. She now LOVES riding the bus in the morning and going to full time kindergarten everyday. She did so well last week that her sweet bus driver named her "Bus Rider of the Week" and gave her a folder with some stickers in it. McKenna was thrilled and has carried the folder around all week.
John and I began running 2-3 times a week in the mornings. This morning although not thrilled to be pulling my lazy behind out of bed I did climb the hill and began my decent down 122nd St. Always on the look out for dogs I saw something in the middle of the road about 1/2 mile down. What I didn't expect was the rather large bird I came upon-with a white head. Have you guessed it? A bald eagle! I've actually seen it flying a time or two, but never this close. Apparently a fan of roadkill, it was trying to get himself a little breakfast. I wish I'd had my cell phone to get a picture of it. My neighbor told me where the nest is, so that is my next venture to see if I can find it.

Tate learned sidewalk chalk isn't JUST for eating, it also makes cool markings on the sidewalk.
Apparently the Boy can be taught.
This is our new way of vaccumning the floors. Tate's love for the v. cleaner was prohibiting it's purpose so I showed him what else he can do besides hugging it. We now vaccumn the floor together. I push, he rides.
With McKenna in school Tyler and Tate spend a lot of time together. Their relationship has really blossomed and they are quite cute, always looking out for each other. Tate still loves to go wake Tyler up from her nap and she seems to like it as well. Tyler is sleeping upstairs during naptime now and Tate will go up and find her and I'll here them upstairs giggling. I hate to admit they are both using binki's-but Tate loves to give Tyler what we call "binki kisses", and one is never enough.

McKenna and Tyler broke out the rollar skates- As you can see she was a little bit nervous, so Tate was there to help Tyler out providing a little extra weight for her so she doesn't fall.

Last but not least today John and Sara, a friend/co-worker came over and built our newest Garden boxes in the backyard today. So excited for the fresh Vegetables to get here!
