Quick update on John: He went to see the Hand Specialist today. He was there for quite a while, guess his thumb didn't look to good. His words being: "Like a hot dog that had exploded in the microwave." Nice huh? Anyway they cleaned and re-wrapped it and then he goes back on Thursday to get it checked. Won't know for 3 weeks if he'll need a pin or not, gotta give it time to heal on it's own. Progress continues as we have great friends who have all volunteered to keep things going so there is some space to live in when the girls and I get home on Saturday.

I'm glad to hear that it wasn't too bad...but definitly not great when you are in the middle of remodeling your house. You guys sure took on a big project - while living it. I would have headed to UT, too. With ours we lived in a travel trailer...kind of tight quarters.
Mel-- It's Kristin (Pettingill)...I can't believe I found your blog....I am sick today and bored so I started blog searching. You family is beautiful and I can't believe you are having your third. Keep in touch. K.
Mel, I can't believe all of the progress. It looks amazing and I cannot wait until the finished project. I am glad you have been keeping busy with fun stuff and you look amazing as well as your girls. I am bummed we weren't able to see you this trip..are you sure you dont' want to stay until the 2nd...well be up there then:) Lots of love to you and your cute family!
Oh no! What happened? Poor John :( Luckily he has his girls back to nurse him to health.
Unbelievable...exploded hot dog sounds terrible, I hope he's feeling better. Some of us get emotional trials, it sounds like John gets the physical ones, especially with the hands. Nice to hear that people are pitching in to help, ya gotta love friends.
I can't believe all of the excitement that you've had in your life lately. I cringed when I read the story about John's fight with the saw. It is a good reminder for me to listen to that little voice.
