Labor Day Weekend Campout 2013

The summer has flown by and we wondered if we'd really get out for our annual camping trip. It's a lil later than usual but we did make it. Unfortunately due to the lateness in the year there was some rain and a lot of wetness to be dealt with. But hey we're from Washington so a little rain isn't going to scare us away....is it? Almost but who can disappoint these kids? They're counting on this family time together.
Our fearless Firebuilder-despite the rain there will be smores

And apparently bubbles...
Hot dogs & smores- Yummo!
Beautiful campsite, sandwiched between a beautiful creek and...a highway.
Our Photographer

woke fully refreshed, to less rain and ready for the day, well most of us. I don't remember getting much sleep that night.
Trailhead to 2nd Beach
Beginning our hike to 2nd Beach!

Coopers 1st visit to the beach-I think he likes it!
I know Tate does!
We had to hold onto the lil guys, otherwise the waves were strong enough to pull them away.
No fear from the girls!
Sandcastles
Cooper taking a stroll down the beach-He's in love, as am I

Lunch-fruit, chips, PB& J, and Nutella sandwiches of course. Although, can't remember why Coops crying, I know he didn't mind eating the sand....
 He loved the climbing
We found a Mer-Tyler in the Sand
 Then McKenna took a turn...
I think she was supposed to be an Octopus...Ursula?

 We found this Muscle Man-
He sleeps even at the Beach.
Family Photo...Our Feet at the Beach
 Beach Art-Where's Tyler
This Stump was being tossed around in the waves
We love the Beach! and our Dad!
 Batters up-McKenna's Pose
Tate's Turn-America's Next Top Model with these and 2
The Beach didn't disappoint-although we had to search to find these starfish
The Sun finally came out for a few short hours in the afternoon
Coopers new favorite toy-a ball as big as him

Had to hold it in place to capture this smile

Can't get over the beauty, and the fun we all had
Even the sandy drink is a treat!

Our masterchef who prepared a fine meal of Mac'n Cheese and Lasagna. Love the MRL's or whatever they are called. There was a lil trouble getting the fire started, and this lil guy was relentless for the 45 min it took to make he wouldn't be distracted by anything else except the fire that was making dinner. Happy to be eating and not redirecting Cooper anymore.
Mac'n cheese, mmmm
Happy I was off kitchen duty, any meal I don't have to make is DELISH!
Day 2-Saturday morning
So hard to wait, so Cooper usually helps himself...
Sleeping beauty-even camping. I live vicariously through this one

Ruby Beach on the way home
a lil rockier than 2nd beach, still fun
Didn't stop Dad from getting a nap

 Beautiful!
Such a fun trip!
